World of Sport Compendium

This set was available from 1980 to about 82/83. In the set you have the Test Match Cricket, Rugby International Edition and the Football Stadium Edition. There are also 4 Floodlights instead of 2 and a mains adaptor unit. It comes on 5 layers and each layer is individually shrink-wrapped. The outer box opens out like a record carrying case but much bigger and is burgundy in colour. Inside the lid is a team chart and details about the contents. In 1980 this set retailed at 80 pounds and sold in very small numbers. It's even possible that you had to pre-order the set, as it's unlikely most shops would have stocked it. Some staff at Waddington's in Leeds were given one of these sets as a leaving present, when they were made redundant.
