Market Cards
These cards were first available in
1948 and were described as "The football game for the odd moment", the
game was finally withdrawn in 1964. Although they were available for some 16
years they are very rare and hardly ever turn up. The game comprises of 48
cards split into 4 teams (each with 11 players), some blank cards, an
"all
rounder" card, and a set of rules all housed in a thin plastic slip case.
The four clubs represented are Newcastle, Arsenal, Cardiff and Celtic.
Each card has a picture of a player, his playing position on the pitch and
a value of between £60,000 and £100,000. The object of the game is for you
to manage one of the clubs and lead them to financial success during each
round of play. |
