  "Comprising of 10 hemispherical bases and goalkeeper base with wire handle. The bases are coloured red, royal blue, light blue, black, lime, old gold, green, tangerine, maroon, white, mauve and grey. Choose the colours to match the shirts of the Football Player Figures"

These are the small one colour bases which came in a variety of colours. The bases were sold separately, because card players would frequently need replacing, whereas the bases would last longer. The picture above hopefully shows the small differences in bases of the 1940's and 1950's. Usually the bases display the Subbuteo logo twice, or Subbuteo and R.D.851000.
